The cafeteria staff at the Highland Complex is unique because they are one of only two cafeterias that serve both a junior high and a senior high. The staff loves that they have the opportunity to watch students grow from seventh graders to seniors in high school.

The staff serves 1,300 lunches a day. Students love the Nachos St. Paul, and the new Rice Bowl Bar is very popular with the high school students.

Cafeteria Supervisor Diane Bougie has 24 years of service in the district. All total, her staff has over 62 years of service in the district. Diane says that her staff is special because they help each other out every day. They definitely helped out when Gabby got shut in the freezer and didn’t know how to get out. She was only locked in the freezer for a moment, but she was glad her coworkers came to her rescue!  Diane is grateful to have such a superb staff that gets along so well; they even like to spend time with each other outside of work.
